I like it, but it seems to have a different style than the other buildings in the series. I would like to see it next to the others before committing to buy.
It seems pretty accurate as a village fire station. Maybe a little more ornamentation could make it more festive.
I like it! But I agree it doesn’t look as festive as the others. This works better as an addition to the other Winter Village sets rather than a standalone.
O.k, I’m torn between two sets now. 1) sanctum Sanctorium or 2) fire station. What to do ? The fire station doesn’t have to be just for Christmas . It looks like I can change it up to be seasonal. Almost like a 4 sets in 1 . If Lego would stop making great sets this would be a much easier decision. Lol.
He-he… I was just thinking that this set would go really well with the Sanctum Sanctorum as they seem to have a similar size and style. I’m just saying… 🙄
I love, love, love it!
I think it will be a wonderful addition to the Winter Village and I am delighted to see what I interpret as a real commitment to invigorating the big picture for the Winter Village.
My special favorite features are a return to the light brick, a dalmatian, the baby’s T-shirt, the frozen fountain, the period architecture with the ornate window frames, and especially that they kept it under $100 so the WV is affordable to the maximum number of families.
The 2 things I’m not crazy about are the fretwork in the tower windows and the exterior staircase. I’ll just leave the staircase and door out but I wonder what I could substitute for those fence sections that just don’t seem to fit the architectural style of the rest of the building.
It looks appropriately seasonal to me but if anyone wants more decoration they could festoon it with mini lights. Either actual battery powered ones or those studded string things from one of previous WV sets.
I think those ornate pieces in the tower windows might look better in black. I’m not sure, but it might be worth a try. You could probably also just use regular window frames, or replicate some of the other windows in the building to make things match. The staircase is probably used so the firemen have a quick access from the second floor, although they also have a fire pole. I’m sure you can make some modifications that you are happy about. 🙂
That’s so not nice admin. I mean where’s the love. Lol. I think my best bet would be the fire station because my town needs one and the Sanctum sanctorum doesn’t have much to offer in a city ( except for taking up space). My other thought , is how to use the fire hoses on the fire truck? The only thing I can think is you take the fire hoses off maybe attach the two together and then attach it to the fire hydrant. Does that make sense?
I thought the two would look fantastic together! Sort of like smaller Modulars. Anyway, no more teasing, otherwise or wallets will run away in protest. 😀
I’m fairly certain that you can attach the fire hoses. There is a similar arrangement in the Modular Fire Brigade, although with fatter hoses. One of our readers at our Facebook page also mentioned that the Fire Station could be easily converted into a café, pharmacy or a little cinema. I thought those were good ideas too. 🙂
Maybe I shouldn’t say that the Sanctum sanctorum has nothing to offer,. I take that back . I guess what I ment was the fire station is there for the fire fighters so they can fight fires and keep Lego city safe.
Yeah, every city needs a fire station! I consider the Sanctum Sanctorum a really good looking city building that is similar to the Modulars in a smaller scale, and could be repurposed on the inside to be used as just regular apartments. 🙂
Nice building, but I wish it came with some dark red masonry bricks! It would be an instant buy for me.
I agree. Some masonry bricks would have taken this to a whole other level. I will still buy it because I like the fire truck, the frozen pond and the other details. And that baby is adorable.
I wonder why they used the older head for the baby. Didn’t they replace it with a newer one with a neck? I like the reindeer sweater though! Nice set and good price.
Hm… good notice. I guess LEGO had a bunch of the old baby heads left over they needed to get rid of. 😀
I think what they’re going for it a babe in arms that we’ve seen before and this new toddler figure who can stand on his/her own. …at least that’s my take on it
Disturbing, headless baby’s . It’s to early for spooky Halloween stuff. Lol!
LOL! 😈
Last year’s offering was the first Winter Village set in years that I didn’t bother to buy, so it’s nice to see that Lego have gone back to designing great Christmas sets again.
