The #10282 LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar sneaker was released a few days ago. We talked about the set in detail at LEGO Adidas Superstar Sneakers Review. Currently, LEGO is also offering a mini version of the iconic sneakers, which is free with purchases of $85 or more. Below are the details on this cute little version.
If you read the review on the #10282 LEGO Adidas Original Superstar, you know that the box looks like a standard shoebox with a flip-up lid, and it even includes tissue paper! The mini #40486 LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar is too small to pack in a shoebox size box, but it does mimic some of the features of the larger version like the blue color, the white stripes, and the black minifig head cutout print on the side. Interestingly, this little set is recommended for 18+.
The other side of the #40486 LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar shows the content of the box; a mini Adidas sneaker and an Adidas mascot minifig with a microphone and boom box. The big question is if the decorations are printed or stickers. Unfortunately, both of the decorations with the Adidas logo are stickers, but the stripes on the shoe are 1×2 printed tiles.
The set comes with 92 pieces, and the construction of the shoe is pretty simple. First you build the sole, then the two sides, front, and back, and then finally attach the tongue at an angle with a hinge brick. Overall, it looks nice, and the black and white combination is quite nice.
Again, the mini version of the Adidas sneaker is currently a freebie with purchases of $85 or more. It could be a nice addition to the #10282 LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar, especially for collectors of unique LEGO sets. And of course, you can also get other sets to qualify for the freebie. This offer expires on July 20th, or while supplies last at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

I never planned to get this, but I might possibly buy a big set on the upcoming double VIP drive from Jul 12, so I’d get the Mini Sneaker, anyway. I don’t think I’ll get around to build it as soon as I’d get it, though…
Not bad for a freebie, but I don’t know what I would so with it.
I have seen someone putting them on an AT-AT walker. 😀
Haha. Check this out. Baby Yoda with the sneakers. 😀

LOL! That’s really cute! 😀
I don’t have the child, but it might be worth getting him just to be able to do this mod. Haha!
I kind of like this better than the large one. The black looks good.
I kinda wanna turn this into a derpy race car. I wonder if you could attach wheels to it. By the way, it’s weird that they made the stripes printed but not the logos. The set would be worth so much more with printed logos. Eh, whatever..
Sure, go for it! You can definitely attach wheels on the bottom as it is just flat. As far as the logos, it may be a cost related issue. The printed stripes can be reused in other places, but the Adidas logos would be unique to this set. Remember that this is just a freebie, so putting extra money into more printed pieces wouldn’t make much sense. The logos on the bigger shoe are printed. 🙂
Ah, it’s a “4-wide”, it would seem like. I guess it could give off some Richard Scarry vibes or something.
You’d probably need some customizing to be able to put a minifig or Fabuland fig inside it, though…
Hmm, I’ll get this freebie, anyway, but I’m not really sure on what to do with it. Maybe I could use the black parts for some custom Blacktron spaceship and the white parts for some custom Futuron spaceship or something. I’ll consider various options…
