September 2023 – NEW LEGO Sets & Promotions

September is bringing us several new LEGO sets and promotions, so let’s take a look!

NEW LEGO ADVENT CALENDARS: Although we’re still a few months away from the holiday season the five new LEGO Advent Calendars for this year are now available. It is a good idea to get them early as they may run out of stock closer to Christmas. The five sets are as follows: the #60381 LEGO City Advent Calendar for $34.99, the #41758 LEGO Friends Advent Calendar for $34.99, the #76418 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar for $44.99, the #76267 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar for $44.99, and the #75366 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar for $44.99. NEW LEGO BRICKHEADZ SETS: We get two new LEGO BrickHeadz sets this month, the #40627 LEGO BrickHeadz Sonic the Hedgehog and the #40628 LEGO BrickHeadz Miles “Tails” Prower. Both sets are $9.99 each and are available at the LEGO BrickHeadz section of the Online LEGO Shop.

NEW LEGO CITY SET: The #60367 LEGO City Passenger Plane is now available. This is one of the nicest planes we have gotten in a while, featuring a detailed interior with a cockpit, seating, an aisle, and a toilet, as well as an airstair, apron bus, pushback tug, catering truck, and baggage truck, plus 7 minifigures. The price is $119.99 and the set is available at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

NEW LEGO DISNEY SETS: The #43230 LEGO Walt Disney Tribute Camera we recently talked about (see: Review of the LEGO Walt Disney Tribute Camera) is now available for $99.99. Another new set is the #43232 LEGO Disney Peter Pan & Wendy’s Flight over London for $59.99. Both sets are now available at the LEGO Disney section of the Online LEGO Shop.

NEW LEGO FRIENDS SETS: There are the new winter-themed LEGO Friends sets. The #41756 LEGO Friends Holiday Ski Slope and Cafe for $79.99, and the LEGO Friends Igloo Holiday Adventure for $49.99. You can find them at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.

NEW LEGO HARRY POTTER SETS: The very large and highly detailed #76417 LEGO Harry Potter Gringotts Wizarding Bank is going to be available on September 4th. The price is $429.99. NEW LEGO IDEAS SET: The recently announced #21342 LEGO Ideas Insect Collection features buildable models of a blue morpho butterfly, a Hercules beetle, and a Chinese mantis in their natural habitats. NEW LEGO ICONS SET: The #10318 LEGO Icons Concorde is also going to be available starting on September 4th. Just like the real-life Anglo-French passenger jet, this detailed replica model has a tiltable droop nose, functioning landing gear, a retractable tail bumper wheel, delta wings with movable elevons, and hinged upper and lower rudders. It also features an accessible seating area and comes with a stand for display in flight, takeoff, or landing modes. The price is $199.99. LEGO MARVEL COLLECTIBLE MINIFIGURES: The LEGO Marvel Studios Collectible Minifigures Series 2 are now available for $4.99 each. The series includes 12 characters: Agatha Harkness, Kate Bishop, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Mr. Knight, She-Hulk, The Werewolf, Goliath, Storm, Beast, Wolverine, and Echo. LEGO BRAILLE BRICKS NOW AVAILABLE: The #40656 LEGO Braille Bricks set is now available for $89.99. The set combines the fun of LEGO bricks with Braille letters, numbers, and signs to offer a playful learning experience for children learning Braille. The set comes with baseplates to build on and there are play starters to explore on at the LEGO Braille Bricks website. The play starters help kids develop their skills as they learn how to orient, attach and stack the bricks. The set also gives an insight into the Braille code and Braille characters.     I guess I’ll buy the Marvel minifigures pre-sorted. Other than that, I don’t know… I’m on the fence about the Marvel calendar, as it looks a lot more bland than the 2021 edition…

    I really like the look of the city apartment building. Anybody has that yet?

      I guess it would look rather out of place both in an urban or suburban setting… But maybe it could function in a kind of hipster resort or similar…

    The bugs set looks intriguing. I bet it’s a fun build. And it’s not too prices. That’s about it for me this time.

    If I’m not mistaken, the Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 is another new set. Or was it released last month? Anyway, it’s a massive beast for 700 bucks!
