Hooray!! Today, the LEGO Group and BBC Studios have announced a new partnership, merging the globally adored world of Bluey with the fun and creative possibilities of the LEGO universe for the first time ever. The collaboration introduces six new LEGO Bluey sets to appear in 2025 across the LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO themes, inspired by the animated TV series.
In case you’re not familiar with the show, the series follows Bluey, a loveable, inexhaustible Blue Heeler dog who lives with her Mum, Dad, and little sister, Bingo. Bluey uses her limitless energy to play games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways, bringing her family and the whole neighborhood into her world of fun.
Bluey is produced by Ludo Studio for ABC KIDS (Australia) and co-commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios Kids & Family. Financed in association with Screen Australia, Bluey is proudly 100% created, written, animated, and post-produced in Brisbane Queensland, Australia, with funding from the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland and the Australian Government. BBC Studios Kids & Family hold the global distribution and merchandise rights.
In Australia, the show is broadcast on ABC. The series airs and streams to U.S. and global audiences (outside of Australia, New Zealand, and China) across Disney Channel, Disney Jr. and Disney+ through a global broadcasting deal between BBC Studios Kids & Family and Disney Branded Television.
The partnership with the LEGO Group aims to create equally fun moments of imaginative role-play and creativity for families as they build, connect, and play out their favorite scenes from the show. The six new LEGO Bluey products will be revealed this spring.
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring together the worlds of LEGO Play and Bluey with the team at BBC Studios. It’s been a long time coming and we believe that this partnership is a match made in heaven for younger builders and families alike. Just like the LEGO brand, the Bluey brand has play at the heart of everything they do, which aligns perfectly with the LEGO brand values and mission.” said Michaela Edgerley Stovicek, Head of Preschool at the LEGO Group.
Julie Kekwick, Head of Licensing Hardlines Consumer Products at BBC Studios added: “We’re thrilled to partner with the LEGO Group for Bluey! We believe that LEGO Bluey products will offer families a fantastic new way to engage with beloved characters and stories from the hit animated series, cultivating even more imaginative play inspired by the Heelers”
Following its debut in Australia in 2018, Bluey has gained millions of fans around the world, capturing the hearts of children and parents alike. The Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning animated TV phenomenon airs in over 140 countries, broadcasts in 20 languages, and is a global ratings hit. According to Nielsen, Bluey was the No. 1 most-watched series on streaming in 2024 among total viewers in the U.S., with over 35 billion minutes watched. Bluey also holds the #1 kids show spot on ABC Australia and CBeebies and Disney+ in the UK. Additionally, Bluey is the #1 kids show on Disney Jr in Canada, Spain, Portugal, Poland, and South Africa.

It seems like this is going to be a long-term collaboration with potentially a lot more sets because BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company also recently announced the first-ever animated feature film for Bluey. The film will premiere in cinemas worldwide in 2027, followed by streaming on Disney+. The movie will also air on ABC iview and ABC Kids in Australia post-theatrical release.
Written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, the film is a Ludo Studio production in collaboration with BBC Studios. The film will star vocal talent from the series, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack, along with music created by Bluey composer Joff Bush.
The CG animated film will be produced by award-winning animation producer Amber Naismith (‘Happy Feet’, ‘The LEGO Movie’, ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’) with Richard Jeffery returning to co-direct (’Bluey’ Series 1-3). Joe Brumm will serve as executive producer, alongside Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio, and Justine Flynn for BBC Studios.
Bluey creator Joe Brumm said: “I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that. I’ve always thought ‘Bluey’ deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”
Daley Pearson and Charlie Aspinwall, Co-Founders and Directors, Ludo Studio, said: “Over the past eight years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary team of more than fifty artists and producers whose talent, dedication, and creativity have shaped ‘Bluey’ into the beloved series it is today. Their work has paved the way for this incredible opportunity to expand ‘Bluey’s world onto the big screen. We’re excited to continue showing Queensland as a home for world-class talent and to share a new beautiful ‘Bluey’ story by Joe Brumm with families around the world.”
