Four new LEGO Creator sets were just released a few days ago, with three of them being some of the most anticipated sets of the year. The sets are the #31049 LEGO Creator Twin Spin Helicopter, the #31051 LEGO Creator Lighthouse Point, the #31052 LEGO Creator Vacation Getaways, and the #21053 LEGO Creator Treehouse Adventures. While the main models in these sets are excellent and we have plenty to talk about, all four of them also come with alternate models. So let’s take a closer look! 🙂

LEGO Creator Sets

#31051 LEGO CREATOR LIGHTHOUSE POINT: Meet the wildlife at the brightly lit Lighthouse Point! Enjoy seashore adventures with this amazing 3-in-1 LEGO Creator set, featuring a cozy lighthouse and lightkeeper’s cottage with a detailed interior, including a table, chair, lamp and a painting. Climb up to the gallery for a bird’s-eye view and turn on the lighthouse beacon to guide passing ships. Then enjoy a delicious drink at the lightkeeper’s cottage, where you can see the friendly orca go by, before a pleasant evening sat around the open fire while the waves lap on the seashore. When you feel like a change, simply move the modular sections to remodel the set or rebuild it to create a house with pier and speedboat, or a boathouse. Lighthouse Point measures over 9” (25cm) high, 9” (23cm) wide and 5” (15cm) deep. House with pier and speedboat measures over 4” (12cm) high, 3” (10cm) wide and 5” (13cm) deep. Boathouse measures over 3” (9cm) high, 3” (10cm) wide and 5” (14cm) deep. Includes 2 minifigures, plus a buildable orca and 2 buildable seagulls. 528 pieces, price $59.99 – BUY HERE

#31051 LEGO Creator Lighthouse Point

I have to say that this set is phenomenal in every way, and one of my most favorite sets of the year. Although it is advertised as a 3-in-one set, there are actually several more configurations besides the three mentioned, because the tower, the house and the landscaping are built up of modular sections, which allows you to easily switch around entire areas for a different look. Also, the house section can be displayed both closed and open, adding to the customizability. All configurations of the set look very sweet, plus there is also a light-brick and a brick-built orca – who wouldn’t love a LEGO orca? The price of the set is at 11 cents a piece, which is just a tad higher than the customary 10 cents/piece. But for all the options you get here, it is totally worth it. I’m positive you would not be disappointed with this set.

#31052 LEGO CREATOR VACATION GETAWAYS: Head for sunnier climes with the Vacation Getaways set! Enjoy travelling adventures with this amazing 3-in-1 LEGO Creator set, featuring an awesome camper packed with everything you need for the perfect vacation, including a luxurious interior with toilet, fold up bed, kitchen, sofa and TV. Unpack the foldout table and chairs from the camper’s roof, extend the awning and enjoy a peaceful barbecue. Then take the motorboat for a spin, try some bear spotting, or study the map and plan your next journey in the wonderful camper! Rebuild to create a perfect summer home or an awesome yacht. Camper with trailer measures over 3” (10cm) high, 14” (36cm) long and 3” (8cm) wide. Summer home measures over 6” (16cm) high, 6” (16cm) wide and 4” (11cm) deep. Yacht measures over 5” (15cm) high, 9” (24cm) long and 3” (10cm) wide. Includes 2 minifigures, plus a brick-built bear. 792 pieces. Price: $69.99 – BUY HERE

#31052 LEGO Motorhome

Just recently we talked about LEGO campers and RVs (see link at the end of this post), and mentioned that this is the largest and most detailed minifig-scale LEGO camper to date. It looks exceptionally good on the outside, and it even comes with a slide-out section and an rolled up awning! The extra pieces are also stored away very much like on real campers. And you also get a super cute brick-built bear! If that’s not enough, this is also a 3-in-1 set that can be rebuilt into a yacht, or a summer home. While the camper is the star of this set, the alternate models are also well done. Watch the video-review below to see all the details.

#21053 LEGO CREATOR TREEHOUSE ADVENTURES: Spend happy days playing in the amazing treehouse! Enjoy exciting adventures with this colorful 3-in-1 LEGO Creator model. Help the children build the treehouse. Lower the pulley to hoist up the planks, hammer the wood together and use the paint roller to add the final touches. When you’re done building, put your tools in the secret hiding place and hoist the treehouse flag! Use the squirt gun to ward off invaders and have fun looking after the tiny blue jay and the frog that live in the tree. Rebuild to create a cool clubhouse or an awesome tree fort. Treehouse measures over 6” (17cm) high, 10” (26cm) wide and 5” (13cm) deep. Clubhouse measures over 5” (13cm) high, 7” (18cm) wide and 5” (15cm) deep. Tree fort measures over 7” (20cm) high, 7” (19cm) wide and 5” (15cm) deep. Includes 2 minifigures, plus a blue jay and a frog. 387 pieces. Price: $34.99 – BUY HERE

#31053 LEGO Creator Treehouse

This set is similar to the #31051 LEGO Creator Lighthouse Point in that – although it is called a 3-in-1 set – it actually has more options than that. And while LEGO calls the three main models treehouse, clubhouse, and tree fort, it is pretty clear that this is basically the ultimate treehouse building kit. Another interesting feature of this set is how the tree canopy was built. I think this is the first time LEGO is using this technique. A fun set overall with plenty of options and playability.

#31049 LEGO CREATOR TWIN SPIN HELICOPTER: Conquer ice and snow with the 3-in-1 Twin Spin Helicopter! Power up the Twin Spin rotors of this awesome machine and take to the skies. Lower the winch, hook up the tracked snowcat vehicle and airlift it to its destination. Perform perfect landings on ice and snow with the helicopter’s cool skis! The 3-in-1 LEGO Creator Twin Spin Helicopter features a high-tech design with a light-blue and white color scheme and can be rebuilt to create a snowmobile with functioning winch or a single-engine airplane with spinning propeller. Twin Spin Helicopter measures over 4” (12cm) high, 13” (33cm) long and 7” (18cm) wide. Snowcat measures over 1” (3cm) high, 3” (10cm) long and 3” (9cm) wide. Snowmobile measures over 2” (6cm) high, 8” (22cm) long and 2” (7cm) wide. Single-engine airplane measures over 3” (8cm) high, 6” (16cm) long and 7” (19cm) wide. 326 pieces. Price: $29.99 – BUY HERE

#31049 LEGO Creator

From the four new LEGO Creator sets this is the least expensive, and – at least to me – the least interesting. I always liked the mini 3-in-1 LEGO Creator sets because they are great pocket models, but this one is larger, so not as portable. However it is not minifigure-scale either, but somewhere in between. The set could still be fun, especially since you can build three alternate models with the pieces, but with all the other excellent LEGO Creator sets this year, this one just doesn’t seem that exciting to me. But that’s just my opinion…

LEGO has been really doing an excellent job with the LEGO Creator line. The fact that three of the four summer models are some of the most interesting and exciting sets of the year proves that. And don’t forget that we also got two great LEGO Creator sets earlier this year; the #31048 LEGO Creator Lakeside Lodge, and the #31050 LEGO Creator Corner Deli. You can’t go wrong with any of them. You can find both the new sets as well as the earlier releases under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
