LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ update

A couple of weeks ago LEGO revealed images of the outside of the #75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters, and even added it to the Online LEGO Shop, however we still couldn’t see the inside. However a few days ago LEGO released images of the inside as well on their Facebook page, so let’s take a look! 🙂

As you can see, the #75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ is massive. In fact, with over 4,600 pieces, it is the third largest set ever released by LEGO behind the #10189 LEGO Taj Mahal (5,922 pieces) and the #10179 LEGO Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon (5,197 pieces). The exterior is very impressive, and the interior is full of fun details. I particularly like the various pieces of furniture and other equipment. According to the description, the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 will fit inside, although judging from the size, some of the furniture will have to be repositioned or removed, as the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 needs a 27×10 stud clearance to fit.

All in all, this is definitely the ultimate LEGO set for Ghostbusters fans, although the $350 price-tag will likely turn some people off. But based on the fact that the set comes with 4,634 pieces and the price-per-piece ratio is only 7 cents, this is a really good deal – especially with the huge number of dark-red elements. If you are planning to get this set in January, I strongly recommend that you get the #21108 LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 now, because as soon as the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters becomes available, it will be in high demand and likely hard – or even impossible – to find. You can get the #21108 LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 under the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales – Episode 5

The fifth and final episode of LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is here! As you may remember from our previous discussions (see links at the end of this post), LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is a new Disney XD animated show with five 22-minute episodes that re-tell the Star Wars saga in chronological order from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace up through Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The story is through the eyes of C-3PO and R2-D2, with the characteristic playful humor that we expect from LEGO Star Wars films. Links to previous episodes at the end of this post, and you can watch the fifth episode below. Enjoy! 🙂

LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales Episode 1

The fifth episode of LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is titled “Gambit on Geonosis”. It starts out like this: “C-3PO has found R2-D2 in the ruined battledroid factory on Geonosis, where Lando Calrissian had taken him. Now, captured by General Veers and his band of rogue stormtroopers bent on restoring the Empire, the rebel heroes find themselves in grave peril.” C-3PO however finds a captive audience in the stormtroopers and tells them the story of Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi….

As I mentioned, this is the last episode of LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales, finishing the retell of the six episodes of Star Wars, as well as the parallel adventures of C-3PO and R2-D2. I think it was an enjoyable series with great storytelling and lots of LEGO humor. I hope that the new films will also get a LEGO makeover at some point. In the meantime you can check out the currently available LEGO Star Wars sets at the Online LEGO Shop.
