LEGO Star Wars Darth Malgus makeover!

One of the LEGO Star Wars sets released this summer is the #9500 LEGO Star Wars Fury Class Interceptor, already available at some locations. You can read more about the Interceptor in the LEGO Star Wars section, but here is the box-art image as a reminder:

The ship itself is quite all-right with an opening cockpit, folding control panel, folding wings, flick missiles and opening rear hull with space for two minifigs. Here are some images from Brickipedia to show some of the details (click image for larger views on Brickipedia):

However what is really unique about this LEGO Star Wars set is the minifigures included; Darth Malgus and two Sith Troopers. According to many LEGO fans these are some of the most gorgeous Star Wars minifigures LEGO ever designed. Just take a look:

And here are some detailed pictures of both Darth Malgus, and the Sith Troopers (images by Flickr member ExoBrick):

Darth Malgus, in particular – with printing on both front and back of his torso, legs, and armor-piece – is a real beauty. Even the head-printing is nice, given the fact that Malgus is still an ugly Sith Lord! 🙄

And here is another interesting image from ExoBrick, where he uses various official and custom LEGO heads to match up with the Darth Malgus armor:

From top to bottom and left to right the heads used are:  Bane (#6860 LEGO Super Heroes – The Batcave), Deadpool (#6866 LEGO Super Heroes – Wolverine’s Chopper), a custom BoneSaw head from eclipseGrafx, Cad Bane (#8128 LEGO Star Wars Cad Bane’s Speeder), custom Iron Man head by Christo, Nute Gunray (#9494 LEGO Star Wars – Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor), custom head with balaclava by eclipseGrafx, Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine (#10188 LEGO Star Wars – Death Star), and Imperial Pilot (#7915 LEGO Star Wars V-Wing Starfighter).

As you can see this LEGO Star Wars armor piece has a lot of usage and looks great with lots of different combos for evil/alien/space characters. Which one is your favorite? Share your thoughts below! 😉

Sometimes even LEGO fans would like to sell their LEGO collection, or part of their collection. This may be due to not having enough room, moving, financial challenges, loosing interest in the hobby (hope not!) or just wanting to free up room for new LEGO sets. 😉

There are several venues to sell LEGO – Craigslist, eBay, BrickLink or even running a garage-sale are some of them. However if you don’t have the time to do the selling yourself, you can take advantage of the services of Brian Semling, owner of Brian’s Toys. Here is what Brian wanted to let our readers know about what he can offer to LEGO fans who desire to sell:

“Brian’s Toys (brianstoys.com), founded in 1994, has primarily been a retailer of Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Marvel toys and collectibles for the last 18 years. We started selling LEGO sets about 4 years ago and are now aggressively purchasing sealed (and opened boxes with new, unused contents) LEGO sets.

We are paying top dollar for sealed LEGO sets. We have a complete list of prices we are paying for sealed Star Wars LEGO sets. We are working on a more comprehensive list of prices that we are paying for other LEGO categories from the last 10 years or so, which we expect to have ready in July. For now, just send us a list at buying@brianstoys.com of the LEGO sets that you have for sale, and we will be happy to issue a price-quote within several days. For a limited time we are offering FREE shipping on your first box shipped to us by UPS, and we offer our account for discounted UPS rates on all of your other cartons shipped.

The following link will take you to a page with more information on prices we are paying and how to sell LEGO sets to us: Sell LEGO at Brian’s Toys. Or email buying@brianstoys.com or call (608)-687-7572 ext. 3 and discuss with Joe any questions you may have about selling LEGO to us.

So if you have any LEGO sets to sell you can contact Brian and his team and see what you can work out. I have also added a quick banner-link to the sidebar on the right (the bright-green box) to reach Brian’s LEGO buying page and regularly updated LEGO Buy List. This is a great resource you may want to take advantage of now or in the future when you need to move some of your LEGO collection.

By the way, Brian also runs an eBay store, also called Brian’s Toys. If you are interested on the buying side you can check out his website at brianstoys.com or Brian’s Toys on eBay.
