New LEGO Star Wars set: Palpatine’s Arrest

LEGO forums and blogs have been abuzz with the news of a new LEGO Star Wars set that somehow haven’t leaked before. It is the #9526 LEGO Star Wars Palpatine’s Arrest. Please take a look! šŸ˜›

Here is the front of the LEGO Star Wars Palpatine’s Arrest box (click image for larger view). As you can see the set is nicely detailed with a lot of play-features and aĀ great assortment of LEGO Star Wars minifigs.

It is actually quite rare to find a LEGO Star Wars set that is not focused on space-ships and star-fights, but instead shows interiors of buildings. I can only think of the highly coveted #10123 LEGO Star Wars Cloud City released in 2003, the #8038 LEGO Star Wars Battle of Endor (another wonderful set), the new #9516 LEGO Star Wars Jabba’s Palace, and this one.

Here is the back of the box showing some of the details and play-features. (Click on any of the images for larger view.)

And hereĀ are the six minifigures included: Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, Chancellor Palpatine, Saesee Tiin, Anakin Skywalker, and Agen Kolar.

According to LEGO-fan site Imperium der Steine, the LEGO Star Wars Palpatine’s Arrest is already available for sale in Germany at the Hamburg LEGO Brand Store for €89.99. I guess this time the USA is not first! šŸ˜‰

So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Star Wars Palpatine’s Arrest set? IsĀ it something going on your wanted list, or are you planning to pass? You are welcome to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! šŸ™‚

Remember the LEGO CUUSOO Minecraft project? It was the first LEGO project that made it to 10,000 votes after the CUUSOO website opened, thanks to the supportĀ of all theĀ enthusiastic Minecraft fans. (You can read more about the project here: CUUSOO Minecraft First View)

If you have been waiting for the LEGO Minecraft set, itĀ just showed up on Amazon.com, and should also be available on LEGO.com soon. The price listed on Amazon right now is $34.99, which was the price announced originally, so no discount yet. However Amazon charges no shipping and no tax to most states, soĀ this would still be a decent deal if you want to get it now.

If you are not planning to get the #21102 LEGO Minecraft setĀ at full priceĀ but you are interested to buy it at some point, I would still put it on my watch-list or bookmark the Amazon page, asĀ AmazonĀ is well known for putting items on sale pretty fast and for deep discounts.

Some people believe that the LEGO and Minecraft combination is a match made in heaven. I can’t comment on that as I don’t play Minecraft, but we should be able to see soon enough if the Minecraft community indeed embraces the actual set just released. If the first LEGO Minecraft set does well, perhaps LEGO will add additional modules to the line, which would be nice for Minecraft fans for the sets, and for LEGO fans for the parts. šŸ˜‰

If the LEGO Minecraft set doesn’t do well, we should expect prices to fall, which would be really sweet for LEGO fans in general as the set contains some very nice basic piecesĀ any LEGO-builder would love to have.

As an interesting tidbit; LEGO has released some additional images by the LEGO Concept Lab team usingĀ six LEGO Minecraft Micro World sets, giving you an idea how much the LEGO Minecraft world can be built up, using extra sets. Looks pretty impressive to me! šŸ˜›

So head over to Amazon.comĀ to check it out.Ā It seems whichever way LEGO Minecraft goes (susseccful or not so) we will be getting lots of tiny plates and tiles – a dream of LEGO mosaic and LEGO micro builders. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below! šŸ˜‰
