New LEGO Desk Drawers, Magnets & More!

There are some new LEGO storage solutions from Room Copenhagen I wanted to bring to your attention. As you may know from our previous reviews (see links at the end of this post), Room Copenhagen is a Danish company that makes the majority of officially LEGO-branded storage, sorting, and display solutions, as well as lunch boxes, water bottles, and more. Room Copenhagen products are high quality, use the same color-palette as LEGO, and are available in a variety of sizes, shapes, and configurations. So, let’s take a look at what new items they have (as well as talk a bit about some old favorites).

LEGO STORAGE HEADS: The large LEGO storage heads have been around for many years are popular with both kids and adult LEGO fans alike. They usually come in standard LEGO yellow with classic LEGO face prints, but there are also orange pumpkin and white skeleton heads available for Halloween. This year, the pumpkin head is getting updated printing and is going to be available in two sizes; the smaller pumpkin is 6.3 x 7.6 in (160 x 193 mm), and the larger pumpkin is 9.4 x 10.6 (240 x 268 mm). As far as I can tell, the pumpkin heads are not yet available, but keep an eye on them at the Online LEGO Shop as we get closer to Halloween. They are also going to be sold on Amazon, where you can still find the previous version of the pumpkin head: LEGO STORAGE HEADS ON AMAZON

LEGO STORAGE BRICKS: The 2×2 and 2×4 classic LEGO storage bricks are still available in a rainbow of colors. They are large and sturdy storage containers with lift-off lids that could be used for storing LEGO pieces or other items. All of the storage bricks can be stacked, so you could basically build with them like giant LEGO bricks. The 2×2 brick is 9.8 x 9.8 x 7.1 in (250 x 250 x 180 mm), and the 2×4 brick is 19.7 x 9.8 x 7.1 in (500 x 250 x 180 mm). 1×1, 1×2, and 1×1 round storage bricks are also available. We have reviewed these products previously, so check the links at the end of this post. There is limited color selection of them at the Online LEGO Shop, and a much larger selection on Amazon: LEGO STORAGE BRICKS ON AMAZON

LEGO STORAGE BRICK DRAWERS: This version of the storage bricks was first released a couple of years ago in limited colors, and are now available in a lot larger color variety. They are the same size as the LEGO storage bricks mentioned above, and are fully compatible as well as stackable. The storage bricks having drawers makes them a lot more practical as a storage solution even for adult LEGO fans. The storage brick drawers come in 2×2 and 2×4 configuration. The 2×2 brick has one drawer, and the 2×4 comes with two drawers. There is a limited selection of them at the Online LEGO Shop, and a much larger selection on Amazon: LEGO STORAGE BRICK DRAWERS ON AMAZON

LEGO DESK DRAWERS: This is a new item that was just recently released. It is a smaller version of the LEGO storage brick drawers, perfectly sized for desk organization. The desk drawers come in two sizes. The 2×2 brick is 6.2 x 6.2 x 4.4 in (158 x 158 x 113 mm) and the 2×4 brick is 12.4 x 6.2 x 4.4 in (316 x 158 x 113 mm). Both configurations have only one drawer. The LEGO desk drawers are stackable, but because of their smaller scale, they are not compatible with the standard size storage bricks and storage brick drawers. Basically, this is a separate stackable storage system that is more suitable for desk organization and for storing smaller items. The desk drawers are only available in red and blue right now, with other colors coming sometime in the future. You can purchase them at the Online LEGO Shop, or from Amazon: LEGO DESK DRAWERS ON AMAZON

LEGO WALL HANGERS & MAGNETS: A couple of other interesting items by Room Copenhagen are the LEGO wall hanger set and magnet set shaped like oversized LEGO studs. The magnet set is not yet available, but it includes an oversized 1×1 round plate and a 1×1 square plate (see picture below). The wall hanger set contains three different size and color 1×1 round plates. Colors available are gray-scale, pastels, and primary colors. The sizes available in each set are 3.7 + 3.09 + 1.85 in (94 + 78.5 + 47 mm). You can use these studs as coat hangers or as a fun and playful wall decoration. The yellow, red, blue combo is available at the Online LEGO Shop, the other two color combinations are available on Amazon: LEGO WALL HANGERS ON AMAZON

I’m a big fan of the LEGO-branded sorting and storage solutions by Room Copenhagen and use them almost exclusively for all my LEGO sorting and storage needs. They are kind of on the expensive side, but they are high quality, can store a lot of pieces, and I love how they match LEGO’s own style and colors. You may just consider getting a couple of them to sort and store your specialty LEGO elements, then, if you like them, get some more when they go on sale.

One thing to note is that when you purchase the LEGO storage bricks directly from LEGO, through Amazon, or another retailer, always double check the name of the product and the product size. As mentioned above, the traditional storage bricks (lift-off lid and drawers) and the new desk drawers are a different scale and thus cannot be stacked on each other. In addition, there is an even smaller storage brick scale called the Mini Box. This is in the LEGO lunch box series and includes the 2×2 Mini Box, sized 1.8 x 1.8 x 1.7 in (46 x 46 x 43 mm), and the 2×4 Mini Box sized 1.8 x 3.6 x 1.7 in (46 x 92 x 43 mm). On pictures, all these different storage bricks look very similar, so it’s important to double check the descriptions.

What do you think? Do you have any of the LEGO-branded LEGO storage bricks, minifigure displays, or other sorting and storage solutions? How do you like them? Or, are you thinking about giving them a try? What is your own favorite sorting, storage, and display solution? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

New Products from LEGO Customizers

Several of the most popular LEGO customizers came out with new products for the summer, so I thought it was a good time to do a round-up. LEGO customizers are usually busy during the summer months as they travel to LEGO shows and conventions, but you can still make purchases through their websites. So, let’s take a look at what’s new in the world of LEGO customization.

NEW PRODUCTS BY BRICKFORGE: BrickForge didn’t just release new products, but they also have a brand new, mobile-friendly website. BrickForge has been around for a long time, and they have an extensive selection of minifigure accessories from fantasy, ancient to modern history, and beyond. They aren’t just carrying military items like armor and weapons, but also civilian items like tools, scooters, farm animals and more. BrickForge always carried a wide selection of colors for each item, and recently they really got into detailed printing and over-moulding of their products to make them look even cooler. Below are a few pictures of their newest items, and you can check out their full inventory at BrickForge.com.

NEW PRODUCTS BY BRICKWARRIORS: BrickWarriors also moulds their own LEGO minifig-compatible elements, and cover a similarly large range of products as BrickForge. While BrickForge follows the style of the older, simpler, more streamlined LEGO accessories, BrickWarriors accessories have a chunkier style that matches LEGO’s own stylistic change for accessories. Of course, they are all compatible with LEGO and with each other and can be mixed and matched. BrickWarriors doesn’t print or over-mould their accessories and they carry less color variations, but their products are beautifully designed and accurate to the source material (be that history or fantasy). Below are a few picture of their recently released items, and you can check out their full inventory at BrickWarriors.com.

NEW PRODUCTS BY BRICKARMS: BrickArms is another LEGO customizer that has been around for a long time. Their focus is on modern military accessories, and their style is similar to BrickForge; simple, elegant, streamlined, and realistic. They have been working on releasing printed and over-moulded versions of their extensive selection. Please note that BrickArms no longer sells products directly (except at live events) but through distributors, including other customizers and online toy shops. You can visit their website to see their selection, and the check the “Where to Buy” tab for a list of resellers. Their website is BrickArms.com.

NEW PRODUCTS BY CITIZENBRICK: CitizenBrick is mostly a custom printer on genuine LEGO elements, but they also have a few custom moulded items as well, and they are one of the resellers for BrickArms products. They recently added 6-pack printed beer cans, lighters, tree branches, and bamboo sticks. They also have many-many new printed elements. I have included pictures of some of their newest items below, and you can visit their website for a full selection at CitizenBrick.com.

NEW PRODUCTS BY ECLIPSEGRAFX: EclipseGRAFX is another customizer who focuses on printing on genuine LEGO elements. In addition, they are also one of the resellers of BrickArms products, so you will find both their own products and BrickArms products at their online shop. EclipseGRAFX’s printing is truly gorgeous. They print on minifigures, minifig accessories, LEGO bricks, LEGO tiles, and more. The family that owns the business travel a lot to LEGO shows and conventions, and they often have items that are only available at these events, although most of them will eventually also make it to their online Shop. Below are a few pictures of their latest releases, and you can visit their website at EclipseGRAFX.com.

Please note that there have been an increasing number of LEGO customizers and the list above doesn’t cover all of them. Rather, this is a list of my favorite customizers I have been personally purchasing from for many years. I know their products are excellent quality and their service is dependable and reliable. If you also have experience with their products, you are welcome to share your reviews on them below, and if there are other LEGO customizers you really like, feel free to share about them as well.
