LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets!

in LEGO TMNT

Here is some update on the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme I thought you would find interesting. Eurobricks member whung found clear images of all the upcoming LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets, so now we can see them in great detail. Check them out below! 😛

#79100 LEGO TMNT Kraang Lab Escape – Includes 90 pieces and minifigs: Michelangelo, Kraang and Footsoldier.

#79101 LEGO TMNT Shredder’s Dragon Bike – Includes 198 pieces and minifigs: Donatello, Shredder and Footsoldier.

#79102 LEGO TMNT Stealth Shell in Pursuit – Includes 162 pieces and minifigs: Raphael, Fishface and Footsoldier.

#79103 LEGO TMNT Turtle Lair Attack – Includes 488 pieces and minifigs: Splinter, Raphael, Leonardo, Chris Bradford and Footsoldier.

#79104 LEGO TMNT The Shellraiser Street Chase – Includes 620 pieces and minifigs: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Dogpound, Elite Footsoldier and Kraang.

#79105 LEGO TMNT Baxter Robot Rampage – Includes 397 pieces and minifigs: Raphael, April O’Neil, Donatello, Baxter Stockman and Mouser. This is gong to be an exclusive set with limited avalability.

And that’s the line up of the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets scheduled for January. Personally I have no interest in the sets, although I’m planning to pick up some of the minifigs. I find this to be a consistent issue with licensed LEGO sets; some of these licenses are just not ideal for LEGO. Just look at that Mech in the last set; it looks atrocious, but LEGO designer’s hands are tied by the original TMNT design. Compare the TMNT Mech to something like the Ninjago Samurai Mech, which is gorgeous. But there LEGO designers could do whatever they want as it is their own design.

Unfortunately the money is in the licensed sets. This is just my own preference, but I rather go for non-licensed sets, and pick up minifigs from licensed ones. As long as there is a good balance between licensed and non-licensed themes, I’m happy. The only exception is Star Wars. There LEGO is doing an excellent job. But Star Wars just leads itself to be LEGO-ised.

What do you think? How do you like the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets? Do you have a favorite that you will definitely get? And how do you like the minifigures? Feel free to share your thoughts below. 🙂

Frankly, I think it’s a waste of time to talk about Krang on this blog.

NO . . . MORE . . . KRANG

If you really think about it it’s no worse than skelletons, snakes, or stone guardians.. really, it’s no worse.

I too don’t like the sets either… but I am still getting all of these in January… I hope LOL… well maybe not ALL in January, but definetly one a month… starting with the StockmanPod set. The minifigures are sooooo cool!!! This show is sooooo good so far and I just love everything TNMT… if you read the commnets the kids post after the show it looks like it’s very popular still and the kids are calling it “The best show on Nick”… Looks like Turtle Power is still strong!!! I hope this line does extremely well.

On another note yesterday I was at Target and they re-stocked the POTC Black Pearl, I saw on an add for Black Friday that its going to be $75 at Target, so if u want one make sure u pick one up, it may be your last chance specially at below MSRP.

LOL! I was at Target on Sunday too, and I also saw the Black Pearl! But I didn’t know it was going on sale! 🙄

Yeah they totally ruined my reselling plans LOL… hopefully I’ll still be able to sell it in December though, I have 4 in my guest room and I bought them for $69 plus tax at WalMart this summer thinking that was gonna be it, then Target surprises me LOL.

I wouldn’t worry about that too much. Most people are not aware of sales like this. I see current readily available LEGO sets selling on eBay for much more than the normal price. People just don’t do their research. 🙄

the only set i’d get is the robot for the rare girl hair piece then i would take everything else apart and i would sell the turtles on Ebay.

In this series he was a human that came in contact with mutagen then became a rat… don’t be prejudiced against mutants, that’s what the X-men is about… Tolerance towards mutants 😉 … LOL

In the original comic book, Splinter was actually a rat mutating into a human., but it was changed for the cartoon.

I used to like the classic Ninja Turtles that me and my brother would watch , but the new eps are CRAP! I may get Kraangs because I could mod his walker to make Dr. Robotnik’s EggMobile (his ship he attacks Sonic in) P.S. New Blog.

Oh my gosh , I could use the little chamber thing for Robotnik’s Robotnicizer! (machine that turns people into robotic slaves)

Gosh… these sets are really ugly!
Never been a fan of TMNT, always thought the whole idea was stupidly cheesy. 😛
I thought LEGO could make anything look awesome… guess I was wrong. Honestly, these sets look akin to Mega Blocks.

I hope lego make more sets based on tv and game series. I really want them to make a Klonoa one. For those who don’t know what Klonoa is. Then watch this cool walkthrough of one of the games. It will explain everything.
