LEGO video: Voldemort Goes Wand Shopping

Here is another great LEGO video from the BrotherhoodWorkshop. I particularly like this one because of the mixed theme of LEGO Harry Potter and LEGO Lord of the Rings. Most LEGO fans (well, except little kids) tend to stick with one theme with their LEGO creations, and it is awesome to see when someone is willing to think outside the box and venture into the uncharted territory of mixed themes and stories. Check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Video Scene by the Brotherhood Workshop

In this LEGO video Lord Voldemort is seeking the Elder Wand, and what better place to look than Ollivander’s wand shop? Unfortunately for the Dark Lord, many other wizards go shopping at Ollivander’s too. And some are more powerful even than Voldemort… ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

I think that the use of the now retired #10217 LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set is really well done. I always thought that set looked kind of like a stage! You can still get this set on eBay if you are interested: Find LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley on eBay

What do you think? How did you like this LEGO video? Also, just a fun question; can you tell how many dwarves from the LEGO Hobbit sets are shopping in Diagon Alley? And which ones are they? Feel free to share your answers in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is very well done! Sorry Admin, but I think it’s Voldemort not Veldemort.

Oops, sorry about that! Just got it fixed. Jumbled fingers syndrome. ๐Ÿ™„

I saw the Minifigures dictionary in the grocery store last Friday. It came with the toy soldier. Does each individual dictionary come with a unique minifigure with it? Because if it did, I’d hope I found one with Mr. Gold!

Meneldur, most LEGO books by DK Publishing will have a minifigure included, but they are unique to the book. It is not like they will just include any random mifigure from another theme or series in each book. LEGO specifically designs minifigures for the DK books. So all of the Minifig Dictionary books have the Toy Soldier, and all Ninjago books had the special Green Ninja, etc.

I loved the video. I have the Diagon ally set and I always thought of combining Harry potter and Lord of the rings. What a battle. Also Gandalf is one my top favorites .

I’m personally not a fan of harry potter so I liked it when Gandalf did all that cool stuff. Gandalf was going, ka pow!, hi yah, bam! stuff like that ๐Ÿ˜€ (I love action!)

finnaly someone who agrees that Gandalf could beat up Voldemort!

      • Wolf May 23, 2013, 3:14 PM

Well ya. I mea Gandalf beat up the Balrog, why no Voldermort? (plus like LoTR more than Harry Potter ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Me too! But I love the Diagon Alley set.

My cousin once said that a better way for harry potter to end is if Voldemort accidentally uses Ron’s broken wand and casts Avada kedavra… My aunt’s reply? “That’s no fun.”

      LOTR FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with you admin, this is another very good video. I like how they mixed Gandalf into the harry potter setting. Though I have to admit, at the beginning, the animation is a bit choppy. But other than that, very well done.

I love these brick films. Do you have any beginner guides to creating your own Lego video (lighting, camera, computer software for editing, etc.)?

    • admin May 23, 2013, 7:57 PM

Andy, I’m not a brickfilmer myself, so I don’t think I would be the best person to write about the topic, but I can certainly interview someone. The LEGO Brickfilms Behind the Scenes Tips & Tricks video by the BrotherhoodWorkshop is actually pretty good giving you an idea of what goes on behind creating a brickfilm. The link is the the post at the bottom of the article, the sixth one down.

Finding beginner guides is easy stuff. Doing it yourself…that’s the problem.

        • admin May 24, 2013, 9:22 AM

Yeah, from what I have read and seen it is tedious work. I’m a patient person but not that patient. ๐Ÿ™

          • Strider May 24, 2013, 9:38 AM

But it is very rewarding. And while it does not sound like it, taking the pictures is actually a lot of fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

            • admin May 24, 2013, 10:06 AM

Yeah, I know, and I admire those who can do it. I’m just not into taking a million pictures. ๐Ÿ˜€

        OOOH!OHH!ME! i love stopmotion!!!

  • legodreams May 24, 2013, 9:57 AM

I LOVED this video! Very well filmed and good voices for the dialogue, but above all enjoyed the humor behind the story. Yay for Gandalf! I was WONDERING how to combine Harry Potter with LOTR – thanks for the inspiration!
