Remember the good old days when Thursday was always Ninjago day around here? There hasn’t been any Ninjago news for a long-long time, but a couple of days ago Hungarian LEGO fan-site KockaMania revealed some interesting information: seven new Ninjago sets will be released as early as in December of this year. Of course we knew about the return of Ninjago in 2014, as it was announced by LEGO with the following poster. 🙂
We talked about this Ninjago poster before (see links at the end of this article), however the list of 2014 LEGO Ninjago set names is very new, and very exciting, if I might say so. Check them out!

Both from the Ninjago poster and from the 2014 Ninjago set names it seems that Ninjago is turning more cyborg-ish, mech-ish in the upcoming season, instead of fighting snakes and such. Which I’m actually really excited about, as I love LEGO mechs. Besides mechs being cool, another reason could be is to differentiate Ninjago from the animal-world of LEGO Legends of Chima. Also, Jay Vincent (who writes the music of Ninjago) says the following on his website: “It has now been confirmed that there will be at least 8 new episodes of Ninjago that will premiere in late 2013 and 2014. The writers Hageman are hard at work, and scoring will begin late summer of this year. Look out for more Nindroids, new action, and many, many flutes.” By the way I highly recommend visiting Jay Vincent’s YouTube Channel where you can listen to all the beautiful Ninjago soundtracks (I also added them below for your listening pleasure.)
Also, there is an interesting discussion in the Ninjago TV Show Forum at Eurobricks, discussing the possible new story-line. Not much is known as of yet, but there is this picture where minifigs seems to be auditioning for the position of the ninja on top of a human’s table. That sounds really fun! I love human/minifig interaction stories!

I am excited that there be more ninjago sets I’m also excited about the new Ninjago episodes but I don’t like the ninjas hair from that picture the only one I like is kai’s hair and Zane’s hair should not grow since he is a robot Cole’s hair looks like he died his hair brown Jay’s hair makes him look older but who cares more ninjago episodes 🙂
As far as what i have read those are NOT the ninja we know from the previous seasons. Those are regular minifigs who are auditioning for the position for the new season. 😉

I don’t know. To be honest I find the way LEGO has been handling Chima quite baffling. There was all this hipe about it at the beginning, but with the TV show being so much delayed it pretty much losts it’s momentum. Or rather; never really got a momentum. 🙁
Many LEGO sets can stand on their own, and there is really no need for a back-story (consider LEGO City for example). But with Chima being quite unusual, without the story to support the sets there is really not a whole lot of insentive to buy them, not to speak of collecting them.
I don’t know why LEGO dropped the ball so badly on this. I thought they really wanted to make Chima work. But there is no way kids are going to wait around for over half a year just to see the episodes (still no announcement, so it could be even longer), while the sets are collecting dust on store-shelves. Even as an adult I don’t have such patience, and there is so much happening in the life of kids to get them distracted. And now with Ninjago on the horizon, I don’t even know why bother with Chima. 😕
Yeah, I feel the same way…no incentive without the story….and now it’s almost halfway through the year – getting ready for Ninjago once more.

I don’t know why…But I have this nagging feeling that Ninjago will end up like Knight’s Kingdom II, with one of the 4 main characters become the new “Mentor” and gets new pupils.
Personally, I thought KKII was horrible. All story and next to no good sets. Lego’s attempt at doing Lego action figures managed to fail on both accounts.
(I got a few of the action figures when my neighbors got rid of their Lego. Don’t care much for them.)
Personally, I’m very nostalgic for them and I loved them, since they are one of my most fond memories of childhood…

The auditioning pics are in fact a mini movie from an Asian website. I believe they have nothing to do with the new season.
Chris, that’s very interesting. If it’s a mini-movie I wonder why they don’t air it here. I mean anything Ninjago related is fun, and kids have been waiting for so long! Even mini-movies would work while we are waiting fo the new season!
Yeah, it’s from that same korean website that we used to get the episodes early from; it’s hard to tell what it’s about (it’s in Korean, of course), and was working really slowly, but it doesn’t seem like it has much to do with the next season… though who knows?

Here’s what I think the whole auditioning thing is:
It’s a little short movie as if Lego actors were coming in to play the parts of the characters the producers wanted in Ninjago, kind of like what Toy Story 2 was like when they had “bloopers” that weren’t really bloopers because you can’t mess up an animation if that makes sense.

LEGO did some pretty funny animation “bloopers” for Chima. I especially liked the one where Laval had trouble getting his speedor started… and then was thrown off it once it took off!

Awesome! This means we could see season 4 sets as early as November 2013! The set names sound great, and I really like the idea of a cyborg army. By the way, I saw the Yoda Chronicles last night! It was hilarious! My favorite line was Mace Windu saying, “Hey! Maybe we could ask Palpatine if he knows who the Sith Lord is!” 😀

From the names if the sets I think that the overlord may return as a robot because the nindroid mech dragon is the name of one set and the overlord becomes a dragon. Also because there is a set called the overborg attack, and the overborg could be the over lord as a robot, most likely a nindroid.
Why is it that they are Shinobi and need Mechas and Helicopters and Bikes I will never understand but I guess it is LEGO.
Anyways nothing too new for me… So many old fans coming back Its like someone called them here like a meeting thing, I remember the old days, They feel like so long ago. Longer than it is, I guess that’s how that stuff works…

Actually, it’s Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole, according to the video.
That is interesting. The one on the far left definitely looks more like Kai, but if that is the case, they have got their shirts mixed up! “Jay” is wearing a fiery shirt and “Kai” is wearing a blue shirt, like lightning. I am not correcting you, but that is very interesting.
It does look like Jay is on the far left and by looking at the picture you would think that is Jay because of the shirt but in the video it shows the one on the far left is Kai.

Hi admin, remember me? It has been quite a while I have been busy, but now I am back to commenting with your blogs. By the sound of the new sets, they do seem technical and very mechanical, implying robots, droids or even nindroids are involved. “Overborg” suggests something associating with cyborgs meaning half robot half human so if we can fit these puzle pieces together I am sure we can come to a solid conclusion

Okay cut that. So when garmadon was evil he planted these evil cyborg doomsday devices in ninjago that will rise in a certain amount of years. So that explains the story. If you notice there is a black and red figure reflection in Zane’s android eye which is one of those cyborgs.
