WOW! I am stunned! That is one of the most fantastic LEGO Star Wars sets ever! A huge array of awesome parts and minifigures. Man, I want it so bad!

    • Brick Boy June 2, 2013, 9:12 AM

Super Spy!?! The one on MOCpages?
      Hi!

    • ninja of stealth June 4, 2013, 12:59 PM

I REALLY WANT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN IS IT COMMING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE TO KNOW!

  • JediToa June 1, 2013, 8:00 AM

So expensive! Should I try to save for Orthanc or this?

    • admin June 1, 2013, 9:42 AM

This is theoretical because I haven’t yet figured out how to afford this set, but I myself would definitely go for this one. There is just so much play-value! 😛

    • Wolvarie June 2, 2013, 7:31 AM

As much as I like LOTR I would go for this one in a heartbeat. How will I pay for it is another matter entirely. Just another iconic scene from ROTJ and for 17 minifigs it and nearly 2000 pieces it is worth the outlay….$250 in US means $400 here in Australian LEGO shop…looking to buy from the US..again.
Awesome job LEGO group, you are really hitting it out of the park at the moment.

  • Brick Boy June 1, 2013, 8:32 AM

Oh My Gosh! I really want this, I’d say it even tops the Death star!
(And that’s no easy task!) I hope I strike oil or something so I can buy this!
    -Brick Boy

  • D.B. Bricks June 1, 2013, 10:07 AM

Lots of tree elements and a huge selection of minifigures. I like it though my brother dosen’t like it (Cause he dosen’t like lego that much only star wars action figures.)

  • D.B. Bricks June 1, 2013, 10:09 AM

Need those elements! I don’t many tree elements only bamboo

  • YTjedi June 1, 2013, 10:11 AM

Cool looking set, but for $250 I think it should’ve had Force ghost minifigs of Anakin, ObiWan, and Yoda. And a baby Ewok too. I am super excited that they finally got the right torso print for Luke when he fights Vader with that little flap thing that hangs across his chest. They’ve been incorrectly using just black robe prints for years.

    • admin June 1, 2013, 10:35 AM

Yeah, some Force ghosts would have been awesome! 😀

    • Gabriel June 2, 2013, 8:48 AM

Yes, I agree! I’m so excited for the new torso printing on Luke! I don’t think I’ll be able to afford this, so I hope they do an updated release of the throne room duel so I can get RotJ Luke AND the Emperor, both of which are missing from my collection.

  • D.B. Bricks June 1, 2013, 10:22 AM

Lego is killing me this year! I want all the lego ninjago, The MBA, Lego star wars summer sets and now THIS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Fikko3107 June 1, 2013, 11:57 AM

    ah.

  • brick addict June 1, 2013, 11:58 AM

Awesome but i want Orthanc more. Can you put the yoda chronicles on here i didn’t get to see it.

    • admin June 1, 2013, 1:01 PM

Yes, I will put up the Yoda Chronicles. Probably on Monday or Tuesday. 😉

  • Andy at www.smallplasticbricks.com June 1, 2013, 12:42 PM

Wow, this is huge! Where do you find the Lego press releases though? I love this set…finally, a big non-spaceship SW set.

    • admin June 1, 2013, 1:02 PM

Andy, yeah, this set is quite unique. Really love it myself. As far as press-releases, I get them directly from LEGO. 😉

    • Gabriel June 2, 2013, 8:49 AM

I learned about it from the LEGO shop Facebook page.

  • Darkon June 1, 2013, 1:05 PM

A true colossus. I love how lego has been making more and more giant sets for themes besides City. The Haunted House, Arkham Asylum, Orthanc, and now this! It’s too much awesomeness!!! :O

    • Strider June 1, 2013, 2:53 PM

You’re right. I wonder if with all the blogs along with Flickr and things like that, the Lego group is starting to realize the large amount of adult fans that are out there and they want them to be satsfied? Adults are the ones with the real money anyway.

      • Brick Boy June 1, 2013, 10:17 PM

But…..Kids,can do cute things…and make their parents buy them stuff;P I just hope my dad is in a good mood when I ask for a loan:P
        -Brick boy

        • Håkan June 2, 2013, 6:27 AM

          To quote Calvin and Hobbes:

-“I still don’t think those Bambi eyes would get you a flamethrower.”

  • Meneldur son of Garamar June 1, 2013, 1:26 PM

Orthanc or this? 😕 Hard decision. It seems like Lego’s been making tons of new sets. And it always seems like there’s more sets in the summer wave than in the spring. But anyway, I’ll have to get this! 🙂

    • Darth Awesome June 2, 2013, 12:19 AM

Too many tough choices this year!

  • Fire Ninja Jedi June 1, 2013, 2:06 PM

This has got to be my favorite set Lego has ever made that I would have a chance to purchase….time for more saving! 😀

Ultimate (unrealistic right now) goal: Get one to display, one to sell in a few years, and one for the pieces XD

    • admin June 1, 2013, 3:10 PM

LOL! Yeah, there is nothing wrong with dreaming like that! Who knows? Maybe the LEGO gods will hear us and send us some $$$! 😀

  • Strider June 1, 2013, 2:41 PM

Wow, this set is great 🙂 Finally Lego has made a big forest set. However the trees look a little fat that was a problem with the Hobbit set as well. :/ I suppose it is a balance issue. And of course you need room to play but I would rather have realisim. I think a bunch of thin trees with camps and caves on the ground would be better and then Lego could have done ladders and steps all over the smaller trees just not a play area. I can see great potential for this set though, all those tree parts would be a great supplement to what I have now, this whole set is begging to be taken apart and made into MOCs. For $200.00 I might buy it, but for as it is now, I would rather have a modular or Orthanc. But one thing I do really like is the big selection of minifigures. Although with all the good guys I don’t think a few more Imperial Troopers would have hurt. But despite a few flaws, (and those are just my personal opinion,) I think this set is awesome.

    • mr. dursey June 1, 2013, 4:54 PM

Yes, I am completely your opinion! The fact that there is only one big play area really bothers me too but just like the Death Star, the set concentrates on the iconic scenes and compresses them into one scene. At least that is what I observed…I think Orthanc would be better to display for me because it is just an impressive building which is as interesting as the village. However, what frustrates me the most on this set is that it is missing the Force ghosts of Anakin, Obi Wan and Yoda, it is a pity!!! :'( Anyways, great set.

    • Meneldur son of Garamar June 1, 2013, 5:26 PM

I think the Lego designer did a wonderful job on building this like he did with Arkham Asylum. Strider, I do agree with you. The trees are a little fat but I think the techniques the designer used to create them made them look more realistic. I also, like you Strider, love the big selection of minifigs. However (this thing is priced at $200 right?), I did think the price was pretty high. If only it could be a hundred dollars. 🙁

      • Meneldur son of Garamar June 1, 2013, 7:47 PM

Upon closer look, the tree trunks are actually pretty good.

  • Strider June 1, 2013, 2:48 PM

Admin, I am not sure if the picture showing the minifigures is wrong or not but it only shows fifteen. I think you wrote down sixteen.

    • admin June 1, 2013, 3:13 PM

Strider, there are actually 17 minifigs; 16 regular minifigs + R2-D2. There are only 15 minifigs on the picture because there are two scouts and two imperial troopers, but since they are identical I didn’t include their twins. 😉

      • Strider June 1, 2013, 6:36 PM

Okay sorry about that. Well if that is the case then good job Lego for making four badguys. They still good have done more though, at such a high price.

  • Tom June 1, 2013, 3:49 PM

Having followed lego star wars since its original launch this is the first set I’ve actually wanted to buy. And as a modular medieval/micro scale builder thats saying something….

  • Micho June 1, 2013, 5:24 PM

OH WOW!!! I dislike star wars very much… but this???… I LOVE!!! However, it is NOT worth $250… $175 TOPS… if I can get that deal I will be removing the palm leaves and replacing them with other foliage and WHAM!!! A forest for my Castle Forestmen!!!

    • admin June 1, 2013, 5:58 PM

Micho, that is EXACTLY what I’m planning to do for my elves! My plan is to either sell the minifigs and hopefully bring the price down by about $100, or find a set on eBay or Bricklink without the minifigs. 🙄

      • Wolvarie June 2, 2013, 7:38 AM

Good call. Add some more foliage and extra branches and this is a tricked out elf village. Could we see a Lorien set in the future??
A good set to start my Brick investing portfolio.

      • Micho June 3, 2013, 11:39 AM

OOOOOOH YEAH!!! 😀 Sounds like a plan to me… perfect place for the awesome Arwen minifigure to live in 😀

        • admin June 3, 2013, 12:16 PM

          Exactly my thought. 🙂

          • Legoman640 June 3, 2013, 3:25 PM

Micho? I haven’t heard from you in a while! Nice to see you again. 🙂

            • Micho June 3, 2013, 5:27 PM

Thanks Legoman640… as you might have figured out I’m biased towards posts regarding my favorite themes :-D… I tend to stay away from most Space, Ninjago, Chima articles LOL… fortunately the last few articles have been of great interest to me :-D… But Anna always puts up great stuff 😀

  • legostuff71 June 1, 2013, 8:10 PM

I am selling my first born.( Oh, wait I don’t have a first born. I’m in trouble. I want this Ewoks village so bad I can taste it. ( yuk! essence of Ewok)

  • Rainbow Dash June 2, 2013, 4:34 AM

Well well well, Finally a set i’m interested in and now we have images to do something I will not explain that many internet people do to images…………..

ANYWAYS I am getting pretty tired of LEGO Star Wars, But this set is amazing, The problem is money… And it being exclusive. I will have like 300 dollars but I am getting something else that is better is more like me…

Also anyways I can see previous Ewok sets connecting to this one It would be amazing. One reason this gets my attention is the fact of EWOKS I love those little teddy-bear looking things. They are cute and deadly (and get killed) BUT STILL

OH and “play features” I know its LEGO and made for little brats who dont know the meaning of life but still from something this Iconic and Large I would honestly expect more model than “play value”

But looking away from that this is a great set I know this could be Death Stars replacement, But when it comes to size Maybe Price and Piece count? not so much. Which is good as for one I have barely any space I mostly use my space for figma, I am trying to get a LEGO table…. Obviously to display my sets.

Now I say I can see this succeding (But not as much as the possibility of Kreo making MLP FIM sets :3 :3 :3) But whatever.

Thats all I have to say. THATS ALL FOLKS! 😛

  • Håkan June 2, 2013, 6:30 AM

First I thought 17 minifigs would be some kind of record, but then I thought that there would have been some Dacta sets with 30+ minifigs or something…

  • The Yellow Ninja June 2, 2013, 8:43 AM

Well, it looks like I’m going to have to start saving. Or I could rob a bank for the money 😛 . I love all of the details, and the fact that it comes with all of those minifigures is unbelievable! 😀

    • Rainbow Dash June 2, 2013, 2:08 PM

Robbing banks, Stealing cars And being Batman

All fun until the cops get you….Unless your talking about me I’m experienced with robbing

Robbing Mario candy….. And Some other things.

  • mr. dursey June 2, 2013, 10:48 AM

I mean, seriously, WHY NO FORCE GHOSTS?!?! They BELONG to that scene!! I’m so upset about that :'(

    • Håkan June 2, 2013, 11:21 AM

Perhaps due to difficulties in manufacturing transcendental ABS plastic.

  • Jackson Loomer June 2, 2013, 1:15 PM

And I thought the new republic gunship was awesome… O_o
(I am dying to know this, when is this coming to stores?)

    • admin June 2, 2013, 1:55 PM

Jackson, all details are in the article. The set is out in September. 😉

      • Meneldur son of Garamar June 2, 2013, 8:23 PM

        I wondered about that.

  • Meneldur son of Garamar June 2, 2013, 8:26 PM

It’s seeming like Lego is finally making some more non-starship sets: Jabba’s palace, The Rancor pit, Palpatine’s arrest, and now this! I’m lovin’ it. (sorry, I was just at McDonalds)

    • Micho June 3, 2013, 11:42 AM

LOL… at least you didn’t sing “Fisheeey Fisheeey”

  • Spider22 June 3, 2013, 5:29 PM

I love this new set coming out! I heard about it and I was like :0 must get it. I wish it wasn’t as expensive but for 17 figs and nearly 2,000 pieces I can’t complain really. So what’s the deal with this set will it be a part of the 2013 summer wave?

    • admin June 3, 2013, 7:21 PM

Spider, the set is scheduled for release in September as stated in the press-release above. 😉

      • Spider22 June 4, 2013, 9:08 PM

So this set won’t be part of the Winter wave or Summer wave of 2013 Star Wars sets? Winter wave comes out in January and Summer ones come out in June/July. So basically it will be released in September 2013 as a stand alone set as you said above? I’m just confused as to if it will be part of a wave or just a stand alone set is all.

        • admin June 5, 2013, 11:11 AM

Spider, the Ewok Village is an exclusive, meaning it is only sold directly by LEGO and it is not part of any regular wave. 🙂

        • LEGOKiNG June 18, 2013, 3:31 PM

the summer wave comes out in august,so the release wont be too far off.

  • vader22 June 4, 2013, 7:35 PM

I know my mom will buy me the Ewok Village. She loves to help me build the sets. PS “What did he say???”

  • charlotte June 26, 2013, 9:05 AM

Can the Lego ewok village be preordered?

    • admin June 26, 2013, 9:08 AM

Charlotte, not yet. It is coming out on September 1st. I suspect it should be available to VIP members a couple of weeks before that. 😉

  • CraggerThePrinceOfChima August 11, 2013, 7:04 PM

I actually was thinking of the idea of making a Ewok Village 5 years ago and I mailed the picture to Lego but instead of 3 trees, I had 4 and the fireplace would have a light-up brick underneath it so when you pushed a button on the side of the tree, the fireplace would light up! And now they finally make an Ewok Village set!

    • admin August 11, 2013, 7:43 PM

Really? Nice! I’m so looking forward to this set! 😛

  • CraggerThePrinceOfChima August 12, 2013, 11:02 AM

I’m also looking forward to this set but it is very expensive so I probably won’t be able to get it.

  • Andrew's mother December 18, 2013, 8:07 AM

My son is crazy about this lego. Unfortunately I can not afford to buy it ,my salary is almost as.
    Maybe I’ll win the lottery.
    Andrew’s mother.

    • admin December 18, 2013, 12:23 PM

You can also get LEGO second-hand from both online and offline sources. It is worth checking it out as LEGO will last for generations. It may be more expensive up-front, but its long-term value (and even appreciation if well takend care of) is way beyond most consumer goods. In fact many people use them as investments. 😉

  • Laser beak September 26, 2014, 3:19 PM

I Think Lego Star Wars gos well but there’s never a wide range of weapons if you saw this I hope you Took it by heart.
