As we have discussed previously, the 2015 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Age of Ultron sets were just released this month. This wave of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is particularly strong with some excellent sets. LEGO Super Heroes have been known for excellent minifigures but mostly weak sets, so it is nice to see that LEGO was finally able to strike a good balance. Having said that, in today’s article we will discuss the minifigures in the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Age of Ultron sets, just because it’s nice to see all of them together (photo below by Gnaat Lego). We will talk about the sets themselves at another time. LEGO Super Heroes minifig collectors should be very-very happy with this wave. ๐
LEGO SUPER HEROES AGE OF ULTRON – THE AVENGERS: In the video-review below by the BrickShow, you will see all of the Avengers from the 2015 The Avengers: Age of Ultron film in minifigure form. There are two Ironman minifigs (Mark 43 and Mark 45). The Mark 45 only comes in the #76029 LEGO Super Heroes Iron Man vs. Ultron set, and the Mark 43 appears in the #76038 LEGO Super Heroes Attack on Avengers Tower, the #76031 LEGO Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash, and the #76032 LEGO Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase.
Other Super Heroes we get in this wave are Thor (comes in two sets; #76038 LEGO Super Heroes Attack on Avengers Tower, #76030 LEGO Super Heroes Avengers Hydra Showdown), Black Widow (comes in two sets: #76032 LEGO Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase, #76042 LEGO Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier), Scarlet Witch (only in the #76031 LEGO Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash), Vision (only in the #76032 LEGO Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase), Captain America (comes in three sets; #76041 LEGO Super Heroes The Hydra Fortress Smash, #76032 LEGO Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase, #76042 LEGO Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier), Quicksilver (only in the #76041 LEGO Super Heroes The Hydra Fortress Smash), Hawkeye (comes in two sets: #76030 LEGO Super Heroes Avengers Hydra Showdown, #76042 LEGO Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier). Then of course we have The Hulk in the new olive-green color with printed purple pants – he appears in two sets; #76041 LEGO Super Heroes The Hydra Fortress Smash, #76031 LEGO Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash). Also, they are not on this video as they only appear in the Ultimate Collector Series #76042 LEGO Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier, butย for the sake of completeness we should mention theย Nick Fury and Maria Hill minifigs.
LEGO SUPER HEROES AGE OF ULTRON – THE ULTRONS: I have to say that these minifigs look absolutely fantastic, as you will see in the video-review below by the BrickShow. If you like the Ultrons, the best way to acquire them is with the #76029 LEGO Super Heroes Iron Man vs. Ultron set, which is only $13 and includes 2 Ultron Sentries and an Ultron Sentry Officer. The Mark 1 Ultron with the super cool translucent head appears only in the #76038 LEGO Super Heroes Attack on Avengers Tower. Ultron Prime comes only in the #76031 LEGO Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash. And Ultimate Ultron appears only in the #76032 LEGO Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase.
As you can see, the minifigs in this series of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets comes with tremendous amount of detail: front torso printing, back torso printing, leg printing, dual sided heads… what more could we ask for? As I said; these are a LEGO Super Heroes minifig collector’s dream come true! And it is also nice that the sets they come in are excellent in their own right. The #76038 LEGO Super Heroes Attack on Avengers Tower, the #76031 LEGO Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash, #76032 LEGO Super Heroes The Avengers Quinjet City Chase are particularly noteworthy. You can find all the new LEGO Marvel sets at the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Super Heroes Age of Ultron Avengers and Ultrons? Which one is your favorite minifigure from the new lineup? Do you have any of the new sets already? Feel free to share your own review and thoughts in the comment section below! ๐

First today is my birthday so I’m going to the LEGO store with a chunky wallet!
Happy Birthday! Let us know what you get! ๐
That’s funny, my birthday is tommorrow ๐ (I’m getting nerf though…bring out the rotten tomatoes.)
Well, happy Birthday to do you! Nerf is awesome, so enjoy! ๐
I got quite a few things for resell like 50% off mech dragon, exo suit, tahu with new polly, new polly x2
personal quinjet, speed champions, crystal hollow, and the elves polly.
I was in a contest and I entered a Hellicarrier (the official one can fit on its runway ๐ ) and I won 1st and crowd favorite, so $125 in Lego gift cards!
Nice! ๐
I’m getting the AOU sets no doubt, but I’m just waiting for the Spider-Man sets in the summer. Am I the only one pumped up for that? ๐
Based on what I have read there are quite a few people excited about the summer sets, so you are not alone. It’s nice to see that both Marvel and DC are getting better looking sets and the focus is not just on the minifigs.
For some reason I found this entire wave uninteresting. I guess I’m more of a DC fan, not Marvel, as I really like the DC sets. Nor am I much of a minifig collector, but I like Thor, Captain America, and Quicksilver, who I have not heard of before. I’m not a fan of Black Widow’s new hair piece, but I suppose it’s more accurate than the previous version. ๐
Also, I just got my Bug Obliterator that I bought from Bricklink, and I’m super excited! Going to go build it now! ๐
Oh! Can I go over and help? We can build an army with our Bug Obliterators! ๐
You could have built it for me… I haven’t even started it yet! Instead, when I went upstairs to build it, I modified my mini dragon, and made a few vignettes for him. Then I did open the box and build Jack Fireblade and the bug, but I went to watch Ninjago after that. ๐ Speaking of which, did anyone else with Verizon notice that the Ninjago episode yesterday wasn’t new? Mine didn’t record it, and next week’s is the same. ๐ Very strange.
I take a long time to build things too. I like to savor the experience, and as soon as I finish, I start modifying. Can’t help you with the Ninjago question, so I will leave that for others. ๐
I take a long time to build because I get distracted by other tasks, like schoolwork. Once I start I can finish pretty quickly. I’m up to the final bag now, but one thing I wasn’t expecting was the stickers being clear-based. I had to be careful with them, since they get ruined easily, and that took some extra time. Other than that it’s been a fun build. ๐
For clear stickers – actually all stickers – use an x-acto knife, or some other very thin blade. Never touch the sticky side with your fingers. Also, you can spray a bit of window-cleaner on the element before attaching the sticker. This allows you to reposition them easily until they are just perfect. Once they dry they stay in that position. This is a recomendation directly from LEGO’s website. ๐
Hm, I should try that sometime. I got most of the Obliterator’s stickers straight, and no fingerprints, but I used a brick separator to apply them. I believe it works as well as a knife, but perhaps the window spray would have helped a bit. ๐ Also, my Obliterator came with an extra sticker sheet (no idea why), so I can always use those to fix the bad ones. ๐
Yeah, the new type of brick-separator should work as it has a thinner front, but a thin blade is even better. However if the brick-separator works for you, that’s perfect. Jealous about your second sticker! I bought extras on BrickLink. ๐
It bugs me that both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are exclusive to sets with the Hulk. Now, I’ve not gotten around to getting a Hulk yet somehow, so I’m all up for buying one of the sets, but I honestly don’t know what to do with a second Hulk bigfig other than resell it on eBay, which will probably be flooded with the, because of this choice by LEGO… Sigh.
Hm… I haven’t even noticed that, but very good point. Hulk sells pretty well on the secondary market, although as you said, it will probably be flooded soon. Yeah, LEGO could have done a better distribution.
Hi all-
Have a question for anyone interested. I just got Hulkbuster so I could have a Hulk BigFig and with the exception of Quicksilver, the only Avenger I’m missing is Captain America. I was going to get the Hydra Fortress Smash but most of the reviews I’ve seen say it’s good, not great. So I have two options: do I take the cheaper route and get Captain America Vs Hydra (which is cheaper but has a different Cap from Ultron) OR do I splurge and get the Fortress (which is more expensive but has a better Cap but worse reviews)? Any advice??
Did you not get/do you not want the AoU Quinjet set? That one has Cap and you’d need to get it if you were using full sets to get your complete AoU Avengers team. Or do you mean you collected all the members without regard to which version they were? The Quinjet set is how I’m planning on getting my Cap, along with the minifigures that are exclusive to that set.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d like the Quinjet, but I don’t have the budget for it. These 2 sets were just to save a little money. ๐ Otherwise yes I would’ve gotten the Quinjet. So I don’t know whether to go really cheap for a more comic book Cap, or to go bigger for a better Cap and QS even though the reviews aren’t as great.
Matt, the Quinjet version of Captain America costs on $8 bucks on BrickLink, and prices will likely come down even more as more sellers start to part out the set. If you don’t want to spend the money on a full set, it is an option you might consider.
Matt, another option would be to just get Captain America on BrickLink. Runs for about $8. Also, you might consider the new Quinjet set. I think it looks amazing, and it has Captain America.
Thanks to both of you! I actually found a $25 gift card for a store which would put the Quinjet at just $5 more than the fortress so I’m 90% certain that’s what I will end up doing! ๐ ๐
Nice! That’s an excellent deal! ๐
I like that with this line we now have six Iron Man minifigures, so those of us (like me) who built the Iron Man Lab from the instructions from the LEGO Club website can now fill it up with Iron Man exclusively, without using War Machine and Iron Patriot to fill in the gaps. I’ll like having it like that when I get my AoU Iron Man minifigures (which will be after I see the movie, as is my personal rule for all LEGO sets that I want that are based on movies).
Yes, yes, and yes! I really liked that little build. In fact I’m surprised it was never released as a set. If anyone is wondering, the instructions can be downloaded here: http://thebrickblogger.com/2013/05/build-lego-iron-man-hall-of-armor/
I assume you built it, from your excitement. If you’re interested, I found a display case that it fits into nearly perfectly. It’s from Hobby Lobby, and it’s in the model car section. It’s the second biggest size. I was able to build a small brace so it doesn’t move around, since it doesn’t fit into the case so that no space is left.
I also made several alterations to my version of the lab, such as using the new 2×2 corner tiles under the table legs instead of the 1×2&1×1 tile combination that it calls for (when I first saw those in white I was hoping they’d come out in the grey color I needed for that, and they soon did), and adding tiles to the tops of the walls to make it look more finished. I also used some of the unused space behind the walls to store the thruster/repulsor pieces that come with each Iron Man minifigure. I love how it looks on display.
Brad, those customizations sound good. Feel free to share a picture if you have one. I have also seen someone add lights, which looked great. Thanks for mentioning the case! I haven’t thought of checking in the model car section, but it makes a lot of sense to find great cases there! ๐
These are so, so cool! Probably my favorite sets this year. Also, this is kind of off-topic, but my Target had Benny’s Spaceship for half off yesterday!! I got it, but I can’t open it until my birthday! At least there are just 16 days left… ๐
Carbo, that’s an awesome find! I wouldn’t have the self-restrain to wait 16 days! It’s one of my all-time favorite sets!
They made way to many Ultron’s ๐
LOL! Yeah! They are awesome though. So much detail! ๐
They are really awesome! ๐
Yeah, I agree! ๐
hello admin i was just wondering if you knew any cheap ways of getting ahold of the quicksilver minifig, i dont want to buy the set because it looks weak but i need the minifig, thanks anyway
Right now the minifigs alone is around $20 on the secondary market. I would suggest to wait a bit until the price comes down, but if you are interested he is listed here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?M=sh180
where did you get the winter soldier minifigure?
The Winter Soldier polybag appeared as a special promotion in the UK, when you ordered the Helicarrier.
๐ awesome!
