More female LEGO minifigures in series 6 & 7!

(Written by Sarah)

I thought to share with you that I have just noticed the increase of female minifigures in the Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 6, and – taking a look at Series 7 – there will be even more! This is very exciting as there never seems to be enough female LEGO minifigs. I really hope this trend continues. Who knows, maybe eventually there will be a LEGO minifigure series with 8 male and 8 female minifigs! 😛

Here’s a round-up of the female minifigures released so far. As you can see, they are definitely increasing per series:

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 1:

  • Cheerleader
  • Nurse

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 2:

  • Life Guard
  • Pop Star
  • Witch

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 3:

  • Hula Dancer
  • Snowboarder
  • Tennis Player

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 4:

  • Ice Skater
  • Kimono Girl
  • Surfer Girl

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 5:

  • Cave Woman
  • Fitness Instructor
  • Egyptian Queen
  • Zookeeper

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 6:

  • Flamenco Dancer
  • Intergalactic Girl
  • Lady Liberty
  • Skater Girl
  • Female Surgeon

Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 7:

  • Bride
  • Red Riding Hood
  • Rocker Girl
  • Swimming Champion
  • Viking Woman

I must say that I am very excited for the LEGO Minifigures Series 7 to come out! Both the Bride and Little Red Riding Hood interest me very much, as well as the Viking Woman. With the kind of MOCs I make and want to make, those will fit in very well. Especially Red Riding Hood, as I’m hoping to make a series of fairy-tale MOCs. I already have Werewolf from Series 4 that I could modify.

Then there’s my eventual hope that they’ll make a female elf to complement the male elf that came out. I’m not sure whether this will happen now with Lord of the Rings scheduled for this summer, but I still have hope. The Lord of the Rings minifigures will be flesh colored and the elf in the Collectible Minifigure series is yellow, and it would be nice to get a matching pair. Not that I’m opposed to mixing skin-colors, it would just be nice to have complimentary figures.

So, dear readers, which female LEGO minifigures are your favorites so far? What would you like to see in the future? Do you like the trend of more female minifigures? Please comment below as I’d love to know what you think. 😉

My favorite is Samus Aran from series 6! I love the pink power suit!!! 😀

    • Sarah January 16, 2012, 1:28 PM

Glad to know that someone likes the pink space girl. I’ve heard a lot of people making fun of her and LEGO for assuming that all girls want pink.

Take a closer look at the surgeon from S6 – with those eyelashes and hourglass shape, I think that is a female too.

    • Sarah January 16, 2012, 1:29 PM

You are absolutely right! How could I have missed that? Thanks for pointing it out.

So that means that series 6 has 5 females and starts the trend forward with series 7 also having 5 females.

I especially like the new hair mold that the zookeeper and tennis player have, they’ve really expanded the girl collection I have.
Also I noticed that you have a picture of the hula girl where the Lifeguard should be.

Quad, thanks for pointing that out! It was my fault. I just fixed it. 😉
As far as the hair-mold goes, that is one of my favorites too. I just can’t get enough of them! 😀

I’m always happy when they do new hair molds. I also really like that new one and can’t wait for it to be used in other sets.

Very nice article ! Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

It would be lovely if LEGO made a ‘Queen Elizabeth, the First’ figure with hair piece and an ornamental ruff piece (which could slip over the neck of the figure). Or how about a Queen Mary figure?

    • Sarah January 18, 2012, 2:01 PM

That would be very cool! I personally love the historical minifigures and there are a lot of options out there. I think more queens or female historical figures would be the best.

  • Nick Nox January 17, 2012, 7:56 AM

They could also consider making a nun. Or what about something from the Old Masters like a ‘Mona Lisa’ minifig? 😉

The people who make fun of the pink space girl obviously don’t play Metroid. Samus Aran is one kick-@## space chick! And if she heard that people were making fun of her pink suit, she’d hunt them down and give them a plasma canon in the face! Metroid 4ever! 😀

ATTEN; to all Lego lovers, I am new at this and just got a few of the series 5 is 1,2,3,4 still available or does anyone have some to sell?
Thanks LOLTLL ( little old lady that love lego)

    • admin January 21, 2012, 1:26 PM

VIE, glad you got some! You can get the previous series from many BrickLink sellers. Just go to bricklink.com and do a search for them. You might be able to pick up all the ones you want from one seller.

    • Quad January 21, 2012, 11:51 PM

You can probably get some of them from ebay also.

      • admin January 22, 2012, 10:27 AM

Quad, yes, that is true. I didn’t mention eBay though because the prices tend to be a lot higher for collectible minifigs then on BrickLink. Although sometimes full boxes of 60 figs do have a reasonable size. eBay seller fees are very high (not like on BrickLink – where it is only 3% and only if you sell), so sellers have to compensate by having higher prices on everything. 😐

LEGO Collectible Mini-figures series 7 released: 1st of May 2012 (4 more month’s from now). I feel very considered about the Bride and Bunny suit guy. The Bride makes me feel inspired. She includes the same flower stem as the Hippie, her Bridal Crown is indeed used in “LEGO Sets” but the Veil is considered as a new piece. The Bunny Suit Guy looks inspirational to me. I love the grin on his face, (looks very cheerful indeed). He looks as though he’s just been amused and the grin hasn’t wiped of is face yet. The Computer Programmer also really interesting.. Go to Brickipedia.co.uk.
          🙂

My Favourite is the Flamenco Dancer except she reminds me of a Japanese Woman. Does it remind anyone else of a Japanese woman?

    • admin March 23, 2012, 10:01 PM

Yeah, she is pretty cool! Although I agree with you; she doesn’t really look like a Flamenco dancer. :d

  • Tyler123 May 2, 2012, 7:10 PM

My favorites are the Viking Lady, Hula Girl, Bride, Hippie, Cheerleader, Flamenco dancer, Gorilla Man, Bunny Man, Cyborg, Lifeguard, Lizard Man, Statue of Liberty and Bandit.

I think they should make a Baby, Female Alien and a Puppy Suit Guy.

    • admin May 2, 2012, 7:41 PM

Tyler, yeah a baby would be a great idea! And a female alien would be awesome! Actually, I don’t remember ever seeing a female alien. 🙄
